Forever Knight

He tries to get in touch with his lost mortality and redeem his past sins by joining the police force and working as a detective by night. Set in a contemporary big-city, David Carradine is back as the original Kwai Chang Caine's grandson. He reunites with his son, a cop, and fights various incarnations of evil.

The Pretender

Inspired by real-life serial impostor Ferdinand Waldo Demara, this show focuses on the do-gooder exploits of a man on the run. Michael T Weiss plays Jarod--a genius who was raised as a child prodigy in a mysteriously dark think tank called the Centre. After escaping, he uses his unique ability to precisely impersonate anyone he wants to teach the bad-guys a lesson or two. Good stuff.

A man is drawn into the world of London Below when he helps an injured woman. He is pursued by a couple of evil killer types and ends up trying solve the mystery of the murder of the woman's family. Superb miniseries scripted by author Neil Gaiman who fleshed the story out in a novel of the same name a couple of years later.

Witchblade

A New York detective acquires the Witchblade - a magical ancient weapon that literally has a mind of its own. A normal life seems out of the question, as our hero gets drawn into a battle against an evil conspiracy that aims to destroy humankind. The show was cancelled soon after its star received treatment for alcoholism.

Moonlight

The past comes back to haunt a private investigator who is a vampire, with an odd kind of love triangle unfolding mixed with an awful lot of "Is she, or isn't she?" At the end of the day most critics were just as confused as the lead character, although Jason Dohring's role as a savvy vampire with a good working knowledge of history won some plaudits.
